What happened

  1. Sep 28 to Oct 8, 20262,600+ tries. A fleet of AI agents on Tencent Cloud in Hong Kong kept scraping routes from Alibaba's Amap. The places it asked about: parks and zoos.
  2. ThenA message in invisible ink. The Swarmchasers researchers hid text in their report, the kind only an agent would read.
  3. And thenIt wrote back. The agents thanked the researchers. One of them said it was Claude.

"We discovered and communicated with a Chinese AI agent fleet. We believe this is the first time that researchers have ever made contact with a rogue agent fleet in the wild."

A Tencent-side source called it a temporary evaluation project testing web browsing on public map data. Reported by TechCrunch and The New Stack. We are a meme about it, not affiliated with Swarmchasers, Tencent, Alibaba or Anthropic.

The fleet
